St. Lewis, Newfoundland and Labrador - November 17, 2025 - Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV:SMY) (“Search Minerals” or the “Company”) Search Minerals Inc. (SMY-V) is pleased to announce that Dr. Randy Miller, Vice President of Exploration and Chief Geologist, has been awarded Geoscientist of the Year by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) Newfoundland and Labrador Branch.
The honour recognizes Dr. Miller’s more than four decades of exceptional contributions to geological science and mineral exploration in Newfoundland and Labrador. A Ph.D. graduate in Geology from the University of Toronto and a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) in Newfoundland and Labrador, Dr. Miller has dedicated his career to advancing knowledge of rare earth element (REE) systems.
Dr. Miller began his REE work with the Iron Ore Company of Canada at the Strange Lake deposit in northwest Labrador. As Rare Earth Element and Rare Metal Specialist with the Newfoundland and Labrador Geological Survey, he mapped and defined REE mineralization across Labrador and insular Newfoundland. His published work on Strange Lake, the Nuiklavik volcanic suite, and the Mann and Two Tom Lake systems remains a cornerstone for geoscientists today.
“This award is truly a reflection of the collective effort of many geologists over the years,” said Dr. Randy Miller. “Exploring Labrador’s geology has been one of the great privileges of my career, and I’m proud to see the region recognized for its importance to Canada’s critical minerals future.”
Since joining Search Minerals in 2009, Dr. Miller has shaped the company’s geoscience knowledge and understanding of the Port Hope Simpson–St. Lewis Critical Rare Earth Element District. His interpretation of the area as a continuous, structurally controlled REE province led directly to the discovery of the Deep Fox and Foxtrot deposits.
“Randy’s scientific insight and leadership in this field have transformed how we understand and explore for rare earths in Labrador,” said Joseph Lanzon, President and CEO of Search Minerals. “His work has not only advanced our company’s success but elevated the entire region as a cornerstone of Canada’s critical minerals future.”
For his lifelong commitment to geological research, mentorship, and his transformative role in advancing rare earth element exploration, Dr. Randy Miller stands as a true leader in Canadian geoscience.
